Research
The New England Musculoskeletal Institute has active basic
science and clinical research programs. Our goal is to use these
programs to develop new therapeutic regimes that will improve
the quality of life of our patients and to evaluate the
effectiveness of the therapies that we are using to treat our
patients today. Scientists in the medical and dental schools
work with the New England Musculoskeletal Institute to study the
development, repair and response to injury of bone, cartilage
and other soft tissues in the body. Our clinicians also
participate in clinical trials and prospective studies to develop new treatment modalities and to
assess our present treatment regimes. We are in the process of
developing a clinical outcomes unit to facilitate clinical
research within the New England Musculoskeletal Institute. |
